This small jug will brighten up any breakfast. Thanks to its classic shape with a narrow bead, it perfectly maintains the temperature of milk or cream for your morning coffee or tea.
Ornaments
The jug is made on a pottery machine and painted by hand. The motives of the patterns of Kosiv ceramics convey the rich flora and fauna of the Carpathian mountains, overgrown with dense forests. Triangles are often found in Hutsul ornaments as symbols of mountain peaks and roofs of houses. Craftsmen often transfer motives from everyday life to their pictures. This ceramic jug looks good with wooden utensils (like chopping boards or trays) and will add ethnic chic for any kitchen.
Colors
The classic colors used in a painting in Kosiv ceramics can be easily explained. The green color tells us about the beauty of evergreen Carpathian forests, among which there are many conifers. Brown is the color of wood, and wood has long been a staple material for home construction, furniture, and household items. These colors look great against yellow, the base background color. Yellow is often associated with the sun, a symbol of health and happiness.
Cultural value
In 2019, Kosiv painted ceramics were added to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
We hope you enjoy these ethnic products as much as we do because they are unique and made with love.
